Spices and herbs aren’t just for adding bold flavor to your food and making it taste great- they have beauty benefits as well. So why not get the best of both worlds? Down below is a list I’ve compiled with some great herbs and spices to keep in your pantry.


Basil
Contains flavonoids that protect your cells from oxidative damage.

Cardamom
Has antibacterial and antioxidant properties. It aids indigestion and helps further detoxify the body. The spice helps treat skin allergies and improves skin complexion.

Cayenne
Boots immunity and the metabolism, and helps curb cravings. Cayenne also stimulates blood flow, which helps nutrients get to the skin cells allowing for glowing skin.

Cinnamon
Has antibacterial properties. It also keeps blood sugar steady by preventing insulin spikes that lead to wrinkles and blemishes.

Cloves
Helps digestion and contains a strong anti-inflammatory oil.

Cumin
Great source of iron and is a digestive booster. Cumin also has a high content of vitamin E which keeps your skin glowing.

Fennel Seeds
High in the UVB protective photochemical quercetin.

Ginger
Is a proven reliever of muscular aches and pains brought on by exercise. It’s also great for an upset stomach, and curbs nausea.

Mint
Eases indigestion and promotes detox.

Nutmeg
Relieves pain, helps with digestion, brain health and skin health. It’s also great for allowing you to achieve a more restful beauty sleep.

Oregano
Has antioxidant, antimicrobial properties that make it a popular cold fighter.

Parsley
Packed with iron and is a blood cleanser. It improves immune function, and prevents discoloration in our skin. Parsley is also great for reducing wrinkles, fine lines and acne due to its unique ability to increase skin regeneration.

Rosemary
Boosts mood and memory. Rosemary can also help protect skin cells from damage caused by the sun and free radicals.

Sage
Helps regulate bile flow for healthy digestion. Sage can also help with depression and memory loss. Sage oil can help contribute to healthy happy skin.

Thyme
Contains powerful antioxidant, antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory compounds. Thyme oil is great for healing sores, wounds, scars and cuts. It can relieve burns and acts as a natural remedy for skin rashes.

Turmeric
Reduces inflammation and speeds up healing. Turmeric is also known for reducing scarring and can help with acne breakouts.
