Say hello to an old friend. Founded in 2001, Mindbody is the largest global provider of online business softwear to the beauty, health, and wellness industry. They provide business management softwear and online scheduling platforms for over 58,000 health and wellness businesses globally. Some of their clients include Bikram Yoga, New York Health & Racquet Club and Class Pass is one of Mindbody’s technology partners using MINBODY’S API to power the inventory on the ClassPass ( app.

Fast forward 17 years and we are now seeing a completely different way to use Mindbody. Any studio that uses Mindbody as a booking platform will have the option of including a “reserve” button, as well as having buttons to buy tickets or to start an order on its Instagram profile. What does this mean? The next time you’re scrolling through your feed and see a post from your favorite fitness studio or spa, you can reserve a class or an appointment on the spot, without ever having to leave the Instagram app.

This feature showcases how technology is making access to wellness services more seamless. However, is there such a thing as too much? We all have our own opinions. On one hand it’s great how convenient things are getting, but conversely when do we just put our phones down and say enough is enough? Maybe for some of you it’s not an issue, but maybe for the rest it is. I know for me personally, this is getting to be a little too much. What about you? What are your thoughts?
